World Day for Safety and Health at Work – 28 April 2020
World Day for Safety and Health at Work
Today, Tuesday 28 April 2020, is World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day.
Of course, at Horner the safety and health of our Horner community is important every day.
World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day is a time to think about how our actions can prevent future work-related deaths, injuries and illnesses, and a day to remember those that have died from a work-related injury or illness.
The theme for 2020 is Stop the pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives.

What do workers need to do?
COVID-19 has brought with it a need for Australians to adapt to rapidly changing workplace practices.
You have a duty to take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and to not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
You need to follow any reasonable policies or directions your host employer and Horner have put in place in response to COVID-19. This includes if you are working from another location, such as working from home.
We encourage everyone to raise awareness about health and safety in the workplace.
