National Safe Work Month
Safety is everyone’s business
October is National Safe Work Month – a time for employers and workers across Australia to commit to creating safe and healthy workplaces.
Run by Safe Work Australia, National Safe Work Month encourages everyone to prioritise occupational health and safety and take preventative action to reduce the number of work-related incidents. No job should be unsafe, and a safe working environment has a collective benefit for employees, organisations and the community.
At Horner, the health, safety and wellbeing of all our Horner community is of utmost importance. We are proud to support National Safe Work Month and have a strong ongoing commitment and focus on health, safety and wellbeing not just this month but every month!
Each week, there is a new topic that National Safe Work Month focuses on:
Week 1: Work health and safety fundamentals
Getting back to basics and unpacking the fundamentals of good work health and safety practices.
Week 2: Psychosocial hazards
Deep diving into understanding psychosocial hazards at work and how to manage the risks.
Week 3: Risk management fundamentals
Re-visiting the fundamentals and focusing on how to proactively manage the risks – an integral part of a safe and healthy workplace.
Week 4: Musculoskeletal injuries
What are they, how they occur, and how we can avoid them.
Remember that safety is everyone’s business.
