Visa changes give a boost to the candidate market 

Did you know there have been temporary changes to visa working conditions for students and holiday makers?

A snapshot of the changes include:

• The Government has removed the limit on working hours for Student visa holders across all sectors to help with current workforce shortages.  This will be reviewed in April 2022.
• Working Holiday Makers can currently work for the same employer for more than 6 months allowing employers to retain staff who have been trained. This temporary relaxation will be in effect from 19 January 2022 to 31 December 2022.

The Australian Government has advised that these measures are temporary and intended to provide immediate assistance to Australian businesses currently facing critical workforce shortages.

These changes are welcomed by both industry bodies, organisations and recruitment agencies, as they provide a well needed boost of candidates in the tight candidate market we are experiencing.
