SecondBite transforms surplus food into opportunity, redistributing fresh, nutritious meals to those in need while fighting food waste. Together, we nourish communities and protect our planet!

Specialising in the logistics of rescuing, moving, storing and distributing food to charities and non-profit organisations across Australia, SecondBite rescues and redistributes wasted food to over 1,400 community food programs nation-wide.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the State Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of staff including truck drivers and warehouse staff to ensure the efficient and safe collection and delivery of food to agency partners.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Ensure ongoing management of Food Safety and Chain of Responsibility compliance programs
  • Work with State Manager to ensure site specific safety plan and improvements are identified and actions implemented
  • Proactively manage food volumes and stock flows to minimise waste
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to direct reports that supports their ability to contribute to the organisation effectively
  • Process all offers to donate produce from donors contacting SecondBite and ensure daily recording of statistics for donations and collections

About You

  • Experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Shift or Team Leader
  • Forklift licence and drivers license required
  • Understanding of current health and safety, chain of responsibility and food safety legislation and practices
  • Previous experience in food industry (desirable)
  • Demonstrated strong organisational skills with a proven record in working within a high volume/turnover environment
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and CRM/logistics systems
